Loch-side cottage in the Scottish mountains

We have submitted a planning application for a new build reinterpretation of the traditional Crofter's Cottage on the edge of Loch Seaforth.

The proposed building has burnt larch timber cladding with a series of large windows which offer glorious views over the loch. The windows also have a series of timber slats which help keep the local sheep from  leaning on them.

The roof is a pitched green roof with pyramid rooflights forming the dormer windows.  At each end of the roof are two chimneys which also provide support for the roof structure.
